ASP Baton Basic is a one-day certification class that teaches security professionals tactical baton fundamentals both through classroom and through practical application. The techniques are easy to learn and retain.

These techniques are designed to work effectively for all security officers, police officers and federal agents. These techniques can be used by males and females regardless of their size.

Why would an organization want to use an ASP baton?

Answer:  To reduce the possibility of lawsuits. The courts recognize that there are several less than lethal force options available to the security and law enforcement professional. If you have an armed security professional working for you, you should be aware that the courts recognize the existence of the use of force continuum. This provides a guideline for alternatives to using deadly force. In this class, participates learn about less than lethal force options such as dialogue, escort, pain compliance, mechanical control, impact weapons and deadly force.
