Chief Private Investigator Maurice Hicks is a retired Police Detective Lieutenant from the State of Maryland. Chief Detective Hicks is a recognized expert in areas of surveillance, clandestine operations, search and seizure and wiretap law. He is a published author in these areas of expertise. Detective Hicks is board certified in security management. He received this certification from The American Society of Industrial Security. He holds the prestigious Certified Protection Professional designation.
Detective Hicks served in a variety of capacities during his 20-year tenure as a Maryland Law Enforcement Professional. He spent the majority of his law enforcement career as a Detective, Detective Sergeant, and Detective Lieutenant in the State of Maryland.
He is an active member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS) and National Association of Professional Process Servers (NAPPS). He worked in and/or commanded a variety of units including: Patrol, Robbery, Homicide, Major Narcotics, Vice Intelligence, Financial Crimes, Sexual Assaults, Carjacking, and Auto Theft. In 2001, Lieutenant Hicks was appointed the Special Assistant to the Director of Public Safety. He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Detective Hicks was the lead investigator on the FBI Safe Streets Task Force for two years. Following his tour with the FBI, he was assigned to the United States Attorney's Office in Baltimore for a period of six months. Maurice has conducted numerous joint investigations with several state, local and federal agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Army Criminal Investigation Division, the Naval Investigative Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol, and Firearms, the Immigration and Naturalization, the United States Customs Service and the United States Postal Inspector's Office. Some of the highlights of Detective Hicks' career include the arrest and conviction of members of a violent drug organization who were responsible for over 12 murders, the arrest and conviction of scores of large scale drug traffickers and the arrest and conviction of a notorious serial rapist.
